MISTER RADIO

Spielfilm, Germany 1924

When banker Joe Swalzen, his secretary, Swalzen's daughter Marion and her governess, Edy are threatened with an accident during a hike, athletic physicist Gaston de Montfort comes to their rescue. Gaston, popularly known as Mister Radio, lives secluded in the mountains with his mother, as she wants to protect her son from the truth about his father's violent death. Marion falls in love with Gaston and arranges funding for his invention to help prevent railroad collisions using radio waves. But Joe Swalzen, Marion's father and financier for this project, turns out to be Gaston's father's murderer. The digitally restored film is presented with new composition by Bernd Thewes, recorded by the MDR Symphony Orchestra under Frank Strobel.
